Robert St. John

Robert St John was born in London on the 21st May 1914 and died in a village near Turin in Italy on the 1st November 1996.

He was an exceptional creative genius whose aim was to find a way to help people to help themselves.

Way back in 1937 when Robert was 23 years of age he observed that the more introverted person pulled back or retreated under stress while the extroverted pushed forward or attacked under stress. He applied the terms Afference to the introvert and Efference to the extrovert. He was aware that these two patterns were attitudes of mind which were introduced at conception! Robert resolved to find an approach which would function in an absolutely fundamental level….. he was aware that the physical reaction was a manifestation of the mental attitude.

The change of attitude had to be made by the subject themselves and not the acceptance of the will of another.

In the 1950’s Robert developed Pre Natal Therapy and discovered in 1955 that the spinal reflexes reflected the weeks of the gestation period from conception to birth. He understood that the illness of mind and body stem from the primary attitude of mind created at conception and developed during gestation. The treatment involved paying attention with perception to blocks which effect changes that finally elimanate the abnormalities. The practitioner being a catalyst allows the individuals themselves to effects the change, this alters the attitude of mind which causes the illness of mind and body.

During the years of the 1970’s Metamorphosis was evolving when Robert began his discovery of Hand Symbols. This changed the time factor to the pre- conception era…. the true source of all our blocks and negative attitudes. Metamorphosis being a creative rather than a therapeutic approach allows the individual to effect a real and permanent change in their behaviour pattern…. the gift of self healing!

Prior to Robert’s death on the 1st of November 1996 he travelled to many countries around the world practicing and teaching Metamorphosis including Ireland, United States, Australia and many European Countries where the ripple effect of his creative philosophy continues to illuminate.
